Renewable Energy
In recent years with the high cost of electricty and all electricity companies charging the Energy Price Cap, it was a no brainer to get a contract with renewable energy, as it didn't cost any more. Now the energy market is improving, there are some cheaper deals available, but deals with renewable energy can still cost less energy than the Price Cap. There are plenty of energy price comparison sites to use. Where there are only marginal differences in cost, or you are happy to pay a little bit more, there is information available on which is the most ethical company.
Solar Panels and Heat Pumps
I have never been in a position to have the luxury of being able to afford solar panels or a heat pump. I plan to put in some serious research into the pros and cons at some stage in the future. In the meantime lots of helpful information can be found on the Money Saving Expert website, here for solar power and here for heat pumps.
